Date with a Young Star

Just when you thought dating a semi-celebrity was quite impossible, Young Star Magazine and RX 93.1 made the fairy tale come true for Allan Yu, a 24-year-old banker. Having a date with pretty commercial and ramp model Jackie Christian was definitely an exciting night for this chinky-eyed gentleman. Read on as he narrates his first hand experience on that memorable night at DISH in Rockwell.

My Date With A Young Star!

It was 12 noon and I found myself sitting alone in my car in the Power Plant Mall’s basement parking lot. If you’re wondering what I was doing...well, I was trying to calm down. Why? In about a few minutes or so, I was going to have a date with the young star Jackie Christian. Whew! "Okay, I can do this," I told myself.

With one last spray of perfume and a brief prayer, I locked my car door and walked into the mall. I was happily window shopping when I got a text message that it was time for my date. Oh boy. I was nervous as hell! There were a million things running through my mind, "What if she didn’t like my company?" What if the whole thing turned out to be a disaster? I forcibly shunned whatever what ifs from my mind and simply decided to have fun no matter what the circumstances were. I took a quick stop at Holland Tulips and picked out a beautiful white Columbian rose. It was a date, right? And besides I remembered when she asked me what I would do to attract her attention during that program on RX 93.1…I told her I’d give her a single rose.

Surprisingly the date turned out to be fantastic! Jackie was very warm and gave great conversation (no star complex to this lady). Within mere minutes, I felt as if as was conversing with a long time friend. Good food from DISH, wonderful lady, great conversation... just perfect. What else could I say? It was simply great for a guy who never joined anything like this before, it turned out to be quite an experience. In fact, I’d even recommend it. Hmm…I wonder if I could join that contest again.
