It took a dentist to put more teeth and bite in the fashion retailing business by opening not just another store.
It’s called Folded & Hung, and it was started by Dr. Ronald V. Pineda as a small shop in Greenhills Shopping Center, four years ago. At the start, it was a best-kept secret among fashionistas and fashion models who liked buying good, not-so-common and not-so-ordinary clothes at very affordable prices.
Now, with 10 Folded & Hung stores in Metro Manila’s major malls, the secret is out: F&H, as it is it now called, caters to the fun, hip and stylish young urban adults  collegiate and professional  belonging to the A to upper C market. All clothes, explains Dr. Pineda, are made in China, China, as if you didn’t know, is the emerging power in the global fashion manufacturing industry.
Dr. Pineda says materials are sourced in China, India and Thailand. Designs are made by an in-house design group headed by Dr. Pineda himself.
F&H recently unfolded its collections for the coming season, as worn by its new batch of image models and other mannequins at the Glorietta.
The fall collection showed a lot of denim, from pants to skirts to jackets, in different cuts. Next season there will be a lot of earth colors. Belts, bags, and layering will be essential.
The Latina Collection featured sexy outfits  lots of skirts with asymmetrical cuts, uneven hemlines, and ruffle detailing to give it a flirty and flowing look.
The rodeo collection consisted of western cowboy-inspired clothes, with lots of ruffled tops paired with denim pants and skirts.
The club and street wear collection allows the wear to be daring, adventurous and funky. F&H accessories for the season are turquoise beaded necklaces, cowboy belts, crocheted shawls and bonnets.
