Hello, Carlo!
April 7, 2002 | 12:00am
He couldn’t answer to "Hello Billy!" Little does his guy know that he is the biggest star of the most absorbing telenovela our consumer-branded eyes have ever seen (move over, Lumen!) Showcasing the gripping saga of a mom and a son’s long-distance relationship, their mutual penchant for foreigners, and yes, their use of ingenious words with "Grasya" as their prefixes or suffixes, Carlo suddenly shot up as a household name.
And as if that’s not enough, this guy also has acting nominations tucked under his belt, from film festivals to tube tourneys. Definitely, his P1500 paycheck days are long gone. But I guess we just have to wait longer for that "Lolo Billy" installment.
Carlo, how…
Was your first date?
Kinda corny, I guess, because I was still young then and I didn’t know how to please the girl. We just went to see a movie, ‘yun lang! That was the first date. The second one is another story.
Much was your first paycheck?
My first paycheck was from ABS-CBN a long, long time ago. It was P1,500
Would you live your life if you didn’t end up as an actor or commercial model?
A businessman, maybe. Before I entered showbiz, my bro and I were helping out in the family business, which provides party needs.
Old were you when you learned about "the birds and the bees"?
Ten years old. I learned it through my friend. He sent me copies of porn. I was in the curiosity stage!
Would you spend a cold night?
With a glass of scotch ,maybe!
Were you a student?
When I was in college, I was doing quite well in school. In high school, though, I was kinda lost. I didn’t know what I wanted.
Do you shop?
I never shop alone. It’s either with friends or relatives. It gets lonely, going to malls by myself.
Picky are you when it comes to women?
I’m not that picky because the most important thing for me is chemistry. It would be hard to picture a perfect woman. You’d end up anticipating a lot of things but falling short of expectations. If there’s no chemistry, it would be useless.
Sensual do you think you are (on a scale of 1-10)?
Well, I’m just turning 23, so I guess I haven’t reached my sexual peak yet. I’d say, 7. I still have a lot to explore. It’s probably different when you’re 40.
