Where Else? Bangs in the ‘C’hinese New Year
February 12, 2002 | 12:00am
On February 1, Where Else? Club raised the bar of Manila partying when it hosted a Chinese New Year-themed party unlike any other E! Wild On! Hollywood crew as it came to Manila to show the world what the Philippines had to offer.
When it comes to theme-parties, Where Else? Showed how seriously they take it. The club was transformed into a modern Chinese opium-like den complete with Chinese photos adorning the walls, Buddha statues, lions, lanterns, hanging dragonsâ€â€you get the picture. Spurned by the promise of coming out on TV in over 72 countries, people took the dress code seriously and came by the hundreds dressed in all their Chinese finery.
Excited by the authentic surroundings, lion dancers and surreal beats of DJs Mon Maramba and David Jacob’s music, the crowd brought the energy to such a high level it left the E! crew and its Hollywood host Kristin Malia impressed.
"Definitely one of the best parties of the year!" one happy partyer was overheard saying. Needles to say the party went on ‘til the sun was shining outside with everyone looking forward to the next chance to show the world that Filipinos know how to party. And expect Where Else? to give everyone more of those opportunities with a line-up of even bigger parties to come.
