Faces to remember
January 30, 2002 | 12:00am
The MTV VJ Hunt yielded two promising VJs in Derek Ramsey and Anna Shier. However, the lucky ones who were part of the roster of faces and personalities that the judges chose from merit our remembrance, too. They might linger on and decide to pursue careers in local entertainment. Here are two of them:
If Louie Tortuyalf could be a celebrity for a day, he’d choose to be Brad Pitt. "He gets the chicks," he smiles. This future lawyer grew up in Aklan and later moved to Los Angeles where he single-handedly organized the Samahang Pilipino and helped teach Filipino-Americans about their culture.
He loves playing water polo, snowboarding, skateboarding, dancing, and, naturally, listening to music. Louie is currently in the Philippines as an exchange student at the University of the Philippines Diliman.
My dream date is…
"Definitely Lea Salonga. I love her!"
My type is…
"Gotta be conservative, a little bit spicy, some attitude, independent, and definitely funny."
My fetish is…
"I love stomachs...especially the nicely shaped ones."
The naughtiest thing I’ve done is…
"Jogged around UP in my speedos."
My role models are…
"Albert Einstein, Sigmund Freud, Karl Marx…crazy thinkers who did things differently. Intellect mixed with personality make for good role models."
My greatest fear is…
"Not being in control. I hate that."
I’d splurge on…
"Alcohol!" [Laughs]
My dream date is…
"I’d say Rob of Match Box 20."
My type is…
"Tall and athletic. Other than that, I want the guy’s personality to be stronger than mine because mine’s already too strong. Back in Davao, some people would be intimidated by me!"
My turn-off is…
"Someone with no sense of direction. I want a leader!"
If I could be any celebrity for a day, I would be...
"I like Madonna because she’s constantly transforming herself and doesn’t stick to one style. Like her, I don’t stick to one identity."
If I could change one part of my body, it would be...
"My feet, they’re huge! Look!"
My plan is…
"To start a business on information systems analysis and development. I think there’s a need for automation in the systems of businesses."
