Cool parents and funky kids

Gone are the days when parents decided everything for their kids.
Now, there is a breed of cool parents who allow their children to express themselves and decide on their own. Choosing clothes is no exception.
And, for these fashion-conscious youngsters there is Mint for Kids at the Shoppesville Arcade in Greenhills Shopping Center. The store captures the more edgy and independent fashion style of the younger people.
Ina Palma, managing director of Mint For Kids, says: "Kids today are different. They’re like little grown-ups who have their own schedules and they run their little lives. They’re exposed to many things. Some of them even start texting as soon as they can start spelling. This is why they need clothes to go with their new lifestyleâ€â€more than just shorts and T-shirts."
Mint for Kids caters to kids ages 2 to 12. The styles veer away from the fussy and uncomfortable to the more casual and MTV-style dressing. But the store also has smocked dresses.
Parents and their funky kids can check out Mint for Kids at Level B of Shoppesville Arcade in Greenhills, San Juan.
