A New Year's Resolution

The British may be calling this decade the naughties, a name the encompassed the year's zeros; but, in reality, these early years of the new millennium are all but nothing. History, for example, is moving at such a fast pace like some form of death, relentless, that many feel incapable of moving alongside it. Many are falling on the wayside, their spirits sad and broken, and we can only wonder at the carnage.

This is all normal, depending on which philosopher you listen to. Man, after all, is bound to falter, is driven to mistakes, and, specifically for the Catholics, cursed by original sin. This, of course, I find hard to believe, for I believe that we are all guiltless. Besides, what kind of God would bring us into the earth branded with what might very well be the sin of knowledge?
