Get those beats going because this month is party month. Get up and dance with Young Star Magazine’s music expert, DJ Manolet Dario, as he shares his enthralling picks of the month.
THE LATIN SOUND OF PACHA
VARIOUS ARTISTS
Pacha is the most emblematic and imitated act in a world of so many spectacular clubs, continually spreading its distinct vibe and influence around the globe. Throughout its history…from the hippy hangover days of the early 70s to the hyper dance culture of the late 80s and 90s, Pacha has seamlessly evolved, adapting to the changing tastes and attitudes of the times without ever compromising its unique character and self-confident sense of style…the result is total excitement!
BEACH HOUSE 2
VARIOUS ARTISTS
Summer does not have enough sunshine without Hed Kandi. This year’s installment of beachside grooves is even better than their last white sand adventure. Grab a copy of Beach House 2 and get seriously loved up. It’s gonna be a long, hot, and horny summer that will stretch all the way til winter with Hed Kandi at the hammock. Simply stunning!
OUTROSPECTIVE
FAITHLESS
It’s been a long and rocky road for production geniuses Rollo, Maxi Jazz, and sister Bliss since "Salva Mea" and "Insomnia" first ripped out of Ibizan speakers and stole clubland’s heart. The band played all over the world weaving itself into the very fabric of clubland. Outrospective marks a crucial development in the band’s career. Always the case though, the dancefloor tracks are only a small part of the ever-expanding whole…all the pieces of the Faithless puzzle are there but greatness still eludes them. Still damn fine!
CERRONE
BOB SINCLAIR
French funkster Bob Sinclair takes one of his all-time favorite producers, none other than disco legend Cerrone, and devotes a whole mix album to the man’s music and the influences it has had on Sinclair’s contemporaries. It’s a totally French, discofied affair that will keep spotters happily drooling at the delightfully blended re-edits and newer tunes.
BASE IBIZA
VARIOUS ARTISTS
Base Ibiza is a small bar in the port in Ibiza, which is unique in terms of atmosphere, friendliness, and hospitality. Now on its second year, Base hooked up with Hed Kandi, Maestro Mark Doyle to launch a new compilation reflecting the sound of Ibiza 2001 and most importantly, the sound of one spectacular bar. Whether you want to gawk at the movers and shakers in the industry or enjoy the hospitality and way forward tunes, this is one place you can’t miss in Ibiza…loads of fun!
