Dave Navarro: rock star, author, tortured soul

When you have a rock and roll resume like Dave Navarro’s (he’s the "roving" guitarist for Jane’s Addiction and the Red Hot Chili Peppers), it’s impossible to be PG-13.

Past exploits include sporting a see-through lace skirt on stage and making out with Anthony Kiedis in a Chili Peppers video, to name a tame few. Dave’s naughty-cool allure certainly doesn’t hurt his reputation as on of rock’s most excessive sidemen. But we’re not surprised to see a softer side of the high profile rocker. With his first solo album, Trust No One, Dave delivers truly touching internal confessions. "I needed to exercise my darkness," he says. Can you relate? He’s also just released a book, Don’t Try This At Home, in which he talks candidly about his wild, rock star life, complete with pictures of at-the-party celebrity friends taken in his home photo-booth.
