Sarah’s Picks

Spunk girl Sarah Meier is at it again with her odd-to-some picks. Listen and you might just learn a thing or two.
Imani Coppola
Imani Coppola
Even though this album always manages to spur a "what-the-hell-is-this" reaction, I still love it. Imani’s very much like me…quirky, passionate, and suffering from "excessive happiness." Let’s just put it this way; you’ll find the outline of a rainbow on the inside of her cover that says, "Colorless rainbow is an ugly one. Feel free to use markers." You know I went ahead and did exactly that.
Rush Hour 2 Soundtrack
Proud to say, Asia’s moving up in the Def Jam world. You’ve got Hikaru Utada representing Japan with no less than Foxy Brown backing her up, Perry from Korea providing a finale for the album, and Singapore’s Urban XChange giving the hip-hop industry a dash of Eastern flavor in this OST. Now mix that with Ludacris, Method Man, LL, Nate Dogg, Snoop, Macy Gray…head bob guaranteed!
The Green Album
Weezer
This is what has got to be the crème de la crème of Weezer, which makes it a pretty damn good album, considering Weezer hardly ever disappoints? I think the tour for this album was their most successful to date, so that’s gotta say something. Now if only we could get them to do a gig over here…
He Blueprint
Jay-Z
The much-awaited, highly appreciated, real hip-hop album we’ve all been waiting for. Fella took his sweet-ass time coming out with this one, but it was well worth the wait. Reviews have been insane, sales were crazy, tooâ€â€he’s collaborating with the right people is all I gotta say. Jacking other peoples tracks and making them your own has never sounded this good. Don’t get me wrongâ€â€sampling isn’t a bad thing. Sometimes.
