Bossing Vic Sotto excited for 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Season 6'
Indeed, the millionaire fever is back on Philippine television. Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, arguably the world’s most popular TV game show, will be hitting Philippine television by storm once more as it enters its sixth season beginning on May 15, Sunday, on TV5.
Leading Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? to its sixth season is host, the “Bossing of All Game Shows,” Vic Sotto. He will showcase exciting changes in the game show loved by millions of Filipinos.
Pinoy Gossip Boy was invited to the grand press launch of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? at the KB Studios in Cainta. In the said press launch, additional features on the show were introduced such as new lifelines and updated set technology.
“As we enter our new season, we promise viewers that we double the fun, excitement, and tension in the sixth season of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? That’s our final answer.” said Bossing Vic.
The additional lifelines introduced at the sixth season, in addition to Phone-a-Friend and 50-50, are People Speak and Switch. Through People Speak, a studio audience will have an opportunity to answer the question and if the answer was correct, the studio audience may win up to P20,000. On the other hand, the Switch lifeline gives the hotseat contestant the chance to change the question with a different one but of the same value.
Another innovation in the show is the qualifying rounds. In the past five seasons, contestants get qualified to take the hotseat through the Fastest Finger First. Now, aspiring contestants may simply text in to join Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. To register, text MILLION (space) Name/Age/Gender/Address to 2256.
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? airs its sixth season on May 15, Sunday, 6:30 p.m., before Talentadong Pinoy on TV5.
