Spring blossoms in Korea at travel expo
MANILA, Philippines – Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) will be showcasing Korea’s diverse products in this year’s Travel Tour Expo (TTE), organized by the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) ongoing at the SMX Convention Center until Sunday.
The Korea Tourism Pavilion has the theme “Spring Blossoms in Korea” and complements the booths of Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, Busan Tourism Organization, Korean Air, Asiana Airlines and Jeju Air.
Headlining KTO’s activities this year is Korea Tourism honorary ambassador Jessy Mendiola, who will greet guests and hold a live one-on-one interview tomorrow.
The event will also feature live dance and musical performances showcasing both Korean and Filipino talents. Special segments about Korean food, style and beauty wherein visitors get to try and witness preparation of traditional Korean cuisine, the latest in K-Pop fashion and a glam make-over will complete the three-day program.
KTO will be giving away souvenir items to everyone who will book and purchase plane tickets and tour packages on-the-spot from partner airlines and travel agencies. There will also be special gift packs for quiz and raffle draw winners.
According to KTO, Korea received a total of 403,622 Filipino tourists in 2015, posting a decrease of 7.2 percent compared to the previous year’s total of 434,951. This decline is attributed to the MERS outbreak in the country. However, from September to December after the outbreak was controlled, there has been a steady influx of tourists rivaling the previous year’s performance.
