Travel Madness sets P270,000 in discounts for raffle draws

MANILA, Philippines - The forthcoming Travel Madness Expo (TME) will raffle off a total of P270,000 in discounts for visitors and guests.

The amount does not include the discounts and freebies that TME exhibitors may give away during the three-day event at the Mall of Asia’s SMX Convention Center, where the raffle draws will be held.

To be raffled off are 90 pieces of Extreme 3K Price Cut certificates, or 30 for each day of the event.

A TME 2014 entrance ticket entitles each visitor to an Extreme 3K Price Cut (3KPC) raffle coupon, wherein he will have to fill out the blanks with his complete name, address, contact number, e-mail address and signature. He must detach the coupon from the entrance ticket and drop it into drop boxes at the right side of the stage and at the Organizer’s Booth.

Visitors who wish to have more entries may purchase as much tickets as desired. The tickets and raffle coupons are valid only on the date of purchase.

The raffle draws will be done at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on July 4 and 5, and at 2 p.m. on July 6. All entries must be in the drop boxes at least 15 minutes before the draw and the winners must be physically present to claim his prize.

With 15 winners per Extreme Madness Hour draw, there will be two draws on Friday and Saturday, and only one on Sunday but for 30 winners.

The draws will be conducted by the members of the organizing committee and a representative of the Department of Trade and Industry. They will draw three batches of five to complete the 15 lucky winners for the hour. 

All the winners will have three minutes to approach the stage and present proofs of identification to claim their certificates. The same procedure shall apply for the succeeding batches.

Failure to approach the stage within the three-minute countdown shall result in forfeiture and a draw for another winner until all 15 Extreme 3KPC certificates shall have been awarded for that hour.

The winners will be assisted to the Organizer’s Booth for the issuance of the Extreme 3KPC certificates. The original and duplicate copies of the certificates must be signed by the winners to be considered valid.  

The duplicate will be released to the winner as his/her discount certificate when purchasing from the selected participating travel agency. The winner must surrender the duplicate to the travel agency to be able to apply the discount on his purchase.

The Extreme 3KPC certificates can be applied as discounts for transactions involving the purchase of tickets for airline and cruise ships, trains and ferries, hotel accommodations and tours, park admissions and transfer services, and other products and services being offered by the participating travel agencies.

The certificates must be transacted before the closing hour of the date when they were won. This date will be indicated on the certificates.

More than one Extreme 3KPC certificate may be applied to a single transaction, provided that these shall have been transferred or endorsed accordingly. Any residual or full value of the certificates is not convertible to cash.

A certificate can be transferred or endorsed only once. This means that once transferred, it cannot be transmitted back to the original winner or endorsed to another person.

The person to whom the certificate will be transferred must be physically present with the original owner to complete the endorsement form at the Organizer’s Booth.

The Extreme 3KPC certificate may be used as a security deposit for any transaction. But in the event the intended travel does not materialize, the voucher value of the certificate can neither be refunded nor converted to cash, in full or partial.

The certificate may even be applied retrospectively, regardless of the date of purchase of a travel ticket, but this can be done only within the day of its awarding or endorsement.

Not eligible to participate in the Extreme 3KPC raffle draws are TME 2014 exhibitors and sponsors, Travel Innovators Inc. and its committee members and employees and all their relatives up to the second degree of affinity.

These raffle draws are one of the many attractions at the Travel Madness Expo, widely known for being the “craziest and most innovative sale” ever to hit the Philippine market.

Now serving as the benchmark of tourism events, the Travel Madness Expo will occupy three of the four exhibit halls of the SMX Convention Center on July 4-6.
