Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort hosts wedding fair tomorrow

Tomorrow, Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa, Cebu reshapes love stories from special to extraordinary with “Of Veils and Trails,” an elegant wedding fair designed to enrich all tales of romance.

The full-day event begins at 9 a.m. with personally guided tours around the resort’s most sought-after wedding venues: the Swarovski-detailed Mactan Ballroom, the ivory-draped Marquee, the glass-enclosed Ocean Pavilion, the scenic Ocean Terraces, and the pristine beachfront. A visit to the deluxe Bridal Suite with its panoramic view of the Mactan Channel’s cerulean waters will also be featured.

An enticing culinary exhibit comes into play at the Mactan Ballroom foyer. From noon to 2 p.m., couples will be treated to tasty nibbles as they sample appetizing dishes selected from the resort’s wedding menus.

The savory affair is followed by a 60-minute confab at the Marquee. Executed in speed-dating style, the interactive dialogue aims to acquaint couples with Cebu’s top wedding specialists.

More hours to freely consult with the city’s finest florists, hair and make-up stylists, pastry artists, decor providers, printers, photographers, videographers, and lights and sound experts follow.

Floodlights illuminate the Marquee at dusk as sophistication takes center stage in the unveiling of exquisite bridal couture by Cebu’s fashion artisans. The graceful sashay down the catwalk will highlight exclusive creations by Jun Escario, Mary Ty, Albert Arriba, Edwin Ao, Myrna Cebrecus, Protacio Empaces, Arcy Gayatin, Oj Hoffer, William Manahan, Yvonne Quisumbing, Philip Tampus, Marichu Tan, and Philip Rodriguez.

Created to inspire the engaged and designed for beautiful beginnings, participation in the Of Veils and Trails wedding fair is complimentary for both in-house and walk-in guests. Courtesy shuttle service from the city is also available to and from the resort at determined schedules.
