Lyceum students top Tourism Skills Olympics

MANILA, Philippines - Tourism students from the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Manila campus bagged the championship trophy at the recent third National League of Tourism Students Skills Olympics held at the University of Baguio, for having garnered the most number of gold medals from the various competitions.

The event was organized by the League of Tourism Students of the Philippines (LTSP), in cooperation with the Tourism Educators and Movers Philippines (TEAM Phils.) and the University of Baguio.

Danielle Bill Salanio, Elaine Villanueva and Gaudy Collado romped off with the gold medal for the Tour Package Presentation; Michelle Alegre got the gold medal for the Poster-Making Competition; and Axel John Olleres was awarded the gold medal for the Tour Guiding-International Category.

Michelle Van Eusebio, Lorraine Mae Padilla and Jane Camille Jacinto joined the Quiz Bee, while Camille Hidalgo represented the school in the Tour Guiding-Domestic Category. 

The students were mentored by lead coaches Enrico Cruzada and Sally Limgenco, assisted by coach Carl Francis Castro.

A total of 15 universities from Luzon and Mindanao qualified this year for the skills competition in 10 categories. LPU-Manila participated in five of these categories and took home three gold medals.
