Victory Liner goes to Panagbenga

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - “The thing that makes the Panagbenga stand out from all the other Philippine festivals is that it offers a uniquely cool and comfortable backdrop for you to enjoy the events without the hot and sweaty environment you find in other festivals,” explained Cedric Valera, managing partner of Travel Factor (travelfactor.org), one of the top adventure trip companies in the Philippines.

February is the ideal month for the Panagbenga because this is the time when Baguio’s weather is at its most perfect.

For people who can only take a few days off from work, Valera recommended that you time your vacation for Feb. 23, the schedule of the Grand Flower Parade. Other attractions include the street dancing parade on Feb. 22, and the grand fireworks display on March 2, the eve of the Panagbenga’s closing.

In 1990, Baguio City was devastated by a powerful earthquake, and for some time, the atmosphere in this merry tourist town became quite grim.

In 1995, lawyer Damaso Bangaoet, Camp John Hay’s managing director, proposed the idea of a flower festival. In 1996, the first Panagbenga Festival was held.

Today, the Panagbenga is one of the most famous and most highly attended festivals in the Philippines.

Victory Liner policies ensure that their drivers never overspeed during the trip. It’s also part of the company’s policies to subject drivers to a vital signs examination before long journeys, to ensure that they are physically well before allowing them to drive a bus.

Tickets can be purchased and paid for online or over a Metrobank counter, and they will be delivered to your home via courier service.
