Bigger, more diverse set of attendees seen at TTE 2014

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A bigger and more diverse set of exhibitors coming from the travel, hospitality and entertainment industries here and abroad is expected at the 21st TravelTour Expo (TTE) 2014 on Feb. 14-16 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

With the theme “Love Life Love Travel,” the TTE is by far the biggest in terms of exhibition area and the most diverse line-up of participants since the TTE was conceived in 1994.

Sponsored jointly by the Department of Tourism, Philippine Airlines and Citibank, the TTE 2014 is a much-awaited event among individuals, groups and companies wanting to avail themselves of huge discounts in exciting travel destinations from airlines, hotels and resorts and even cruise lines. The Philippine STAR is the event’s official media partner.

The DOT is the official co-presentor of the TTE 2014, while PAL is the official carrier and Citibank the official credit card company. PAL, in fact, is occupying a major portion of Function Room 5 at the second floor of SMX.

Additional sponsors are Asiamiles, the official mileage card; and Globe Telecom, the official telco partner of the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) for this important event.

This year’s TTE will occupy Halls 1 to 4 at the ground floor of SMX and Function Room 5 at the upper floor, with a total floor area of 11,480 square meters.

Quite interestingly, the participation of foreign airlines did not just expand in terms of number but also in the sizes of their booths, largely encouraged by the overflow crowds that attended last year’s TTE.

Travel enthusiasts and those still wanting to travel anywhere in the country or abroad will certainly have a wide array of choices and flight or tour packages to choose from based on the participation of 53 travel agencies and tour operators (inbound/outbound); 27 airlines; five cruise lines; 96 hotels and resorts; 14 embassies and travel organizations; 12 product suppliers; six theme parks/entertainments; 14 food and delicacies; four travel insurance firms; and four media partners.

For a P50 regular entrance fee (including students and children) and P20 for senior citizens, the public can get the best deals and packages (flights and accommodations) from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Feb. 14-16.

The target visitors are travel and tourism trade practitioners, corporate and business travelers, holiday travelers, incentive and convention planners, government and business leaders, direct buyers, and investors.
