MANILA, Philippines - Laguna Gov. Jeorge ‘ER’ Ejercito Estregan and his wife, Pagsanjan Mayor Girlie ‘Maita’ Ejercito, show off the four trophies that the La Laguna Festival and Bangkero Festival won in the Pearl Awards 2013. The two festivals were adjudged the Best Tourism Event of the Year-Festival Category in the provincial, city and municipal levels during the recent 14th National Convention of the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines  (ATOP) in Legazpi City, Albay. The province was also named second runner-up for the Best Tourism-Oriented Local Government Unit and the Biggest Delegation, while the Pagsanjan Foundation Day took home the first runner-up award in the Arts and Culture Category-Municipal Level. The La Laguna Festival is now officially an ATOP Hall of Famer after winning the Best Tourism Event of the Year-Festival Category for three consecutive years (2011, 2012 and 2013), together with the Coco Festival of San Pablo City.
