BSA Tower and BSA Suites: The ultimate in serviced residences

Dandi Galvez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - There are times people seek certain comforts in their travels, especially when the stay tends to be long or they travel with family and friends. There are needs to be met — a larger space or the ability to prepare their own food, for example – as they continually change the way they stay in places far from home. When the usual hotel room just isn’t enough for these needs, try the serviced residences of BSA Tower and BSA Suites.

Located in the heart of the business district of Makati City, both BSA Tower and BSA Suites are defining the way serviced residences are perceived in the industry. These are not your ordinary hotel rooms; they are much, much more. Each serviced residence in the two properties features all the creature comforts of home. Aside from a bed or bedroom and baths, there is also a fully functional kitchenette equipped with all the amenities you’d expect. Provided are refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, glassware and cutlery. In most instances, the serviced residence has a dining room and a living room to receive guests.

Jake Mercado II, director of sales and marketing for Quantum Hotels and Resorts which handles the management of both properties, says the needs of hotel guests are changing. “There is a real market for serviced residences. Guests opt to stay at a place where they can cook. It is an alternative to going out or looking for a restaurant.” He reveals that even some of their foreign guests, from the Middle East for example, bring their own chefs. “We have that kind of market,” he adds.

BSA Tower is located right beside Greenbelt 5 along Legaspi Street, a stone’s throw away from the myriad of shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues of Ayala Center. Meanwhile, BSA Suites is situated on Palanca Street, nearer Ayala Avenue and many major corporations and companies making up the Makati Central Business District. Both properties are within a few minutes’ walk from each other.

What makes up the kind of people who stay at BSA? As it turns out, it’s a very broad spectrum. Many expatriates, executives of foreign companies, and vacationing overseas Filipinos enjoy long-term stays and the ability to treat serviced residences like they would their own homes. Not only that, families opting for a weekend vacation in the city are enjoying BSA’s wide rooms and high-ceiling space, dining and kitchenette areas, and many room options from the one-bedroom premiere suite to the one-bedroom executive suite. Two-bedroom suites are also available.

Mercado explains that BSA Tower and BSA Suites provide an excellent kind of personalized service, supported by the fact that their room density is quite low and only a few guests are ever on one floor. “We provide personalized service such as bell service,” he enthuses. “We assist guests, we check them in. That you cannot find in any condotel. We take care of the guests’ laundry, we have housekeeping to maintain the cleanliness of their rooms every day.” The housekeeping service is outstanding. The BSA staffers polish floors, wash dishes and clean each serviced residence even on Sundays and holidays. Breakfast is free and served every morning to each room.

The breakfast service is about to change a little by the third quarter of this year, and Mercado says there will be a breakfast lounge that will remain free to all of their tenants.

The new lounge is just one of many exciting developments at the BSA properties. Mercado says, “As we innovate, the evolution depends on the needs of the market.” Vacationers and travelers are a fickle market and he says that BSA is quick to adapt to their ever-changing needs. At present though, BSA Tower and BSA Suites continue to offer the best when it comes to serviced residences.

Mercado adds: “The privacy, comfort, spacious rooms, excellent personalized service, and the great location and reasonable prices for short- to long-term stays — it’s your home away from home.”
