Balesin Island Club partners with LPU-Manila
MANILA, Philippines - Students of the College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management (CITHM) of the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU), Manila campus have been tapped by Alphaland’s Balesin Island Club to supplement its workforce during the peak summer months.
Fifty CITHM students passed the series of interviews conducted by the resort’s officers and are now assigned to assist the resort’s frontline staff.
Balesin is a 500-hectare tropical island paradise 21 kilometers southeast of Polillo, Quezon and is a quick 25-minute plane ride from Manila. It is a members-only, private leisure destination which features seven themed villages inspired by world-class beach destinations namely: Balesin, Bali, Phuket, St. Tropez, Toscana, Mykonos, and Costa del Sol.
Each village is beautifully landscaped with a unique swimming pool and a specialty restaurant. These culinary outlets offer gourmet delights based on the village’s theme. All the villas are meticulously designed, with panoramic views of the ocean or woodlands.
The LPU students, complying with the school’s required on-the-job training program, will be at the resort all throughout the summer months.
Balesin Island Club transported them on its private aircraft, giving them free accommodations, free meals, and a daily allowance.
LPU is the only internationally accredited Tourism and Hospitality Management school in the country, and the almost 9,000 CITHM students at the Manila campus also make it the biggest in the country.
Aside from deluxe local establishments as partners in its practicum program, the LPU-Manila campus also offers its CITHM students a wide variety of international destinations — the US mainland, South Korea, New Zealand, Thailand, Guam, France, Japan, Malaysia, Spain, mainland China, Australia, and Macau.
