Resorts World Manila inks partnership with Hilton
MANILA, Philippines - Travellers Hotel International Group Inc. (THIGI), owner of the country’s first highly successful one-stop, non-stop integrated hub, Resorts World Manila (RWM), recently inked a management agreement with leading global hospitality company Hilton Worldwide.
The agreement will see the introduction of a Hilton Hotels & Resorts property in Manila as part of the third phase of Resorts World Manila’s expansion project.
With the emergence of a new and promising Philippine economy, a booming tourism and hospitality scenario, and multinational investors dropping anchor in the Philippines, Asia’s new economic tiger, Hilton Worldwide is poised to bring back its glory days through the soon-to-rise Hilton Manila at Resorts World Manila.
The agreement, in addition to a number of developments and the expansion of several international hotel brands in the Newport property, is expected to propel RWM’s position as the prime tourism hotspot in Asia, catering to the growing influx of international visitors to the country with five prime hotels in its all-in-one mixed-use complex in the next few years.
“Resorts World Manila welcomes the addition of Hilton Manila to our integrated leisure and lifestyle complex, as we remain faithful to the class of offerings and attractions we are most known for,” said THIGI president Kingson Sian.
“We envision RWM as the prime tourism destination in Asia which offers the best there is to the world. Hilton Worldwide has definitely made the right decision to choose Resorts World Manila as the future home for its 350-room property,” he added.
Aside from the Hilton Worldwide partnership, other numerous investment undertakings were also initiated by THIGI during the Grand Fiesta 2012 signing ceremonies held last Nov. 23.
These include noteworthy projects with Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide which would usher in the construction of two deluxe hotels, the 350-room Sheraton Hotel in Resorts World Manila and the 600-room Westin Hotel in the anticipated Resorts World Manila Bayshore at the Entertainment City complex in the Manila Bay Area.
Agreements for the expansion of the existing prime hotels, Marriott and the luxurious all-suite Maxims, were also made. The project is set to add another 234 rooms to Marriott Hotel Manila and 200 more rooms to Maxims Hotel.
With the projects being undertaken by THIGI plus the other hotels that will be built by its parent company, Alliance Global Group, Inc., an estimated 5,000 hotel rooms will be added to the country’s hotel room inventory in the next five years. This grand expansion plan supports the Philippines’ continuously booming tourism industry.
