Lovely little details on Cathay Pacific make the journey

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Transits in Hong Kong are no longer inconvenient, rather  something to look forward to with Cathay Pacific’s lounges, The Cabin, The Wing, The Pier, G16 and The Arrival.  On my recent trip from Manila to San Francisco I had a four-hour layover at the Hong Kong International Airport, which I spent at the 1,339-square-meter The Cabin. On The Health Bar’s long bar, I sat alongside several other businessmen, sipping a glass of bubbly while catching up on work emails.  As soon as lunch hit, I moved to The Deli for some artichoke salad and dimsum, and then to the IT Zone’s super comfortable Poltrona Frau-handcrafted “Salus” armchair for a Viber call with my boyfriend over their high-speed Wifi internet, right before boarding.

On the business class flight from Hong Kong to San Francisco, apart from my seat fully reclining into a bed and the cute Agnès B. amenity kit, I was quite impressed with the flight attendant because from all my travels, she was the only one who, after I asked for a glass of the 2009 Simi Sonoma County Chardonnay, poured a little for me to taste, before filling the rest of the glass. These days, even in business class, the glass is often served directly to the passenger, and it’s these little details that make the journey. — Cheryl Tiu
