PATA Manila Youth Forum set at Lyceum on Sept. 27
MANILA, Philippines - The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), the leading voice and authority on travel and tourism in the region since 1951, stages the PATA 2012 Manila Youth Forum on Sept. 27 at the JPL Hall of Freedom of the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) in Intramuros, Manila.
Hosted by LPU and Taylor’s University of Malaysia, this will be the first time the PATA Youth Forum will be held in the Philippines, further boosting the country’s tourism efforts, as the event always attracts many delegates from various countries in the region.
Tourism students and other professionals in the industry will find this forum most informative, as the topics are geared toward further strengthening one’s foothold in his or her chosen career within the industry.
A stellar line-up of speakers has been confirmed for this one-day event, led by PATA CEO Martin Craigs who will talk on “How PATA Can Support Your Career.”
The others are Ivy Chee, PATA regional director for East Asia, “PATA and The Next Gen”; Dr. Perry Hobson, pro vice chancellor of Taylor’s University, “Innovation and Marketing”; and Rika Jean-Francois, regional manager for South Asia and Pacific of ITB Berlin, “Importance of Trade Shows.”
Other speakers who have also confirmed their participation are: Jens Thraenhart, co-founder and president of Dragon Trails, “Social Media”; Bert van Walbeek, founder and managing director of The Winning Edge, “Crisis Prevention Management in Tourism”; and, Peter Semone, chairman of PATA’s education and training committee, “Developing the Tourism Professional.”
Entrance tickets to this tourism event cost only P600 ($15) each and include lunch, two snacks, a conference kit, a certificate of attendance, and entry to the PATA Travel Mart at SMX that same afternoon.
