Lucky Chinatown gets luckier after Noynoy dots dragon's eyes

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno S. Aquino III led the grand opening of Lucky Chinatown — the biggest redevelopment project and tourist destination to rise in Binondo in the past two decades. VIPs from the local Chinese-Filipino community joined the president and Megaworld Corp. chairman and CEO Andrew Tan in the festive celebration.

President Aquino praised Megaworld for preserving the character of Manila’s Chinatown and making a huge investment that will create jobs. He also led the dotting of the dragon’s eyes to bring even more luck to Lucky Chinatown.

Tan, one of the country’s business tycoons, recounted how the company worked hard to transfer the campuses of Raja Sulayman and Jose Abad Santos High Schools and provided the teachers residential condos near their place of work. Tan also thanked Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim for his support.

Tan hosted a sumptuous Chinese lunch for his VIP guests at King Chef restaurant. VIP guests Aubrey Miles and Troy Montero were also seen shopping around Lucky Chinatown.

Lucky Chinatown is on Reina Regente St., a few steps away from the historic Binondo Church. For information, call Lucky Chinatown’s concierge at 576-8139, 0917-8380111 or visit www.megaworldlifestylemalls.com.
