SEAIR taking advantage of economic boom

- Perseus Echeminada -

BORACAY, Aklan, Philippines  - The president and chief operating officer of the South East Asian Airlines (SEAIR) is confident that with the ongoing economic boom, they could target at least 500,000 passengers with their weekly promo fare to various destinations in the country.

Patrick Tan told reporters here recently that SEAIR would deploy a new 144-seater Airbus A319 for the newest flight to Kalibo, Aklan from the Clark International Airport every Friday, Sunday, and Wednesday.

“We are taking advantage of the economic boom going on in the countryside, (and we are) targeting local and foreign tourists and businessmen,” he said.

Starting July, Tan said SEAIR would expanding its domestic operations to six cities — Cebu, Puerto Princesa, Iloilo, Tacloban, Bacolod, and Davao — from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s Terminal 4.

Tan said SEAIR recently acquired two Airbuses and another one would be arriving soon to bring its total Airbus fleet to five.

“The new routes showcase the difference paradise destinations in the country. We are proud that we help promote that ‘It’s more fun in the Philippines,’” he said.

To celebrate the newest Clark-Kalibo route, Tan said SEAIR is offering a one-way fare of as low as P510 in its online booking.

Tan said their partner airline program with Tiger Airways allows SEAIR to distribute its seats through Tigers Airways’ online booking system (www.tigerairways.com). SEAIR is the first Tiger Airways’ partner in the Asia-Pacific region.

SEAIR is the second oldest airline in the country and the first airline based in Clark.

It has pioneered commercial flights to the country’s fastest growing tourist destinations, including Boracay, Batanes, and northern Palawan.
