In the heart of Manila

- Lester Gopela Hallig -

MANILA, Philippines - Manila’s cityscape continues to beat with excitement. New entertainment, hospitality, commercial and cultural attractions pop up here and there, giving locals and foreigners alike more choices to enjoy the city. We love the fact that Manila is still a thrill, never mind what skeptics say. At the end of the day, the city presents new stories to tell and more memories to keep.

In fact, one of these new establishments happens to rise above the culturally rich district of Malate. Called Centara Hotel Manila, this newly opened hotel combines comfortable and affordable accommodations with a classy ambience and attentive service.

The four-star, 15-story Centara Hotel Manila has 96 rooms and suites, with the minimum size at 43 square meters, bigger than the usual hotel room. Guests have a choice of two views, too: the Manila skyline view or the Manila Bay view and its spectacular sunset.

Swimming pool

The rooms are made up of 30 superior rooms, 34 deluxe rooms, 24 premium rooms, five junior suites, and one executive suite. Each room comes with a choice of king bed or two double queen beds. Most rooms have bathrooms with bathtubs and separate showers.

“Centara Hotel Manila knows that comfort is essential to any traveler. Every room in Centara is cozy and relaxing, from the interiors to the beddings. Even though the hotel is right in the middle of a rather-busy district, we guarantee that you will be able to unwind after a busy day,” says hotel owner Estrella Dimaculangan.

“We have an all-day dining restaurant called The World, right there by the lobby. No winding passages to get there. The World serves Filipino, Thai, Chinese and Mediterranean dishes for lunch and dinner,” Dimaculangan adds.

Soon, guests will want to partake of the exciting Thai cuisine at the hotel’s Ginger & Lime rooftop restaurant. “Dining and taking in the view of Manila from our rooftop is quite an experience,” she promises. “You will never see Manila like this from our location.”

“We are also set to open our rooftop Bar Lounge. It is a relaxing setting when you decide to enjoy our refreshments and cocktails with family, friends, and business associates. The rooftop boasts of its own swimming pool, too, complete with a sundeck.”

Dimaculangan says Centara Hotel Manila is all ready for this year’s Valentine’s Day. “We have lined up a couple of promos that will truly make any couple’s Valentine’s Day an unforgettable one.”

She suggests couples to make it a date at the Bar Lounge. For only P900 net per couple, the Valentine set dinner includes soup, salad, main entrée, side dish, dessert, a glass of house wine, a round of iced tea, chocolate pralines, and a rose.

Of course, why stop there? The hotel’s Valentine’s Love Package has all bases covered: for only P4,100 net, couples get to avail themselves of an overnight accommodation in a superior room with buffet breakfast, the Valentine set dinner and its inclusions, complimentary use of Wi-Fi for in-room and public-area use, gym, and swimming pool. The Valentine’s Love Package is available from Feb. 13 to 15.

To complete the Centara Hotel Manila experience, check out its very own Spa Cenvaree. The treatment rooms are spacious and comfy, with provisions for singles and couples. Among the notable massage treatments are the Dagdagay Foot Massage, Thai Massage, Aromatherapy Massage, Swedish Massage, and Deep Tissue Massage.

“Centara Hotel Manila is right where the action is. Why miss out?” Dimaculangan says. Indeed, she has a point.
