CentaRA Hotel opens in Manila

- Lester Gopela Hallig -

MANILA, Philippines - The opening of Centara Hotel Manila on Oct. 23 is bound to add color to the city’s already exciting tapestry. Located in the culturally rich district of Malate, Centara Hotel Manila promises to enhance and enrich the local hotel scene with its unique blend of contemporary design and comfortable accommodations.

There is a lot going for this four-star hotel. For starters, this newly built 15-story establishment features 96 rooms and suites, with the minimum size being 43 square meters, indeed a larger-than-your-average hotel room. The views from the rooms are just as impressive: it is either the city skyline or the Manila Bay and its world-famous sunset.

Centara Hotel Manila’s 96 rooms comprise 30 Superior rooms, 34 Deluxe rooms, 26 Premium rooms, five Junior Suites, and one Executive Suite. Each room and suite offers a choice of king-size bed or two double queen-size beds, accommodating up to two adults and two children in comfort. In most units, there are bathrooms with bathtubs and separate showers.

The hotel is owned by McSquare International Corp. president and chief executive officer Estrella Dimaculangan, who shares that utmost comfort is something that they have taken into serious consideration.

“Whether you are staying in your cozy suite, dining in our restaurant or lounging around, we want you to feel comfortable and care for,” Dimaculangan says.

She is referring to Centara Hotel Manila’s all-day-dining restaurant The World, which specializes in local and international cuisine. She says, “Expect a combination of set menus of Filipino, Thai, Chinese, and Mediterranean influences for your lunch and dinner. We maintain a strict high standard of quality in our culinary offerings, the better for you to enjoy great value for your money in a beautiful setting.”

She also recommends the hotel rooftop restaurant Ginger & Lime, which gives Thai cuisine a fresh new twist and boasts of an extensive selection of fusion dishes and international classics. “Go indoor or al fresco. It is a culinary adventure you won’t soon forget.”

Meanwhile, the Bar Lounge serves up innovative cocktails and refreshments at the rooftop while these are also available for room service 24 hours.

“Go chill out at our large swimming pool at the rooftop,” she recommends. “It has its own sundeck. Or why not try the award-winning Centara-brand SPA Cenvaree. The spa combines traditional aroma therapy and modern treatments.” SPA Cenvaree will have five treatment rooms suited to both singles and couples.

Dimaculangan states that location adds to the charm of Centara Hotel Manila. She shares, “We are near tourist attractions such as the Rajah Sulayman Park, Malate Church, and Manila Bay. A little further are Rizal Park and the historic Intramuros. For guests bitten by the shopping bug, we are near shopping malls, restaurants, and commercial centers. Business travelers can also look forward to nearby cultural, convention, and business centers.”

Centara Hotel Manila is under parent company Centara Hotels & Resorts, with its general manager Simon Soh helping ensure that the hotel will leave a lasting favorable impression on guests.

Well, it is about time that Manila enjoys another landmark with the arrival of Centara Hotel Manila. With its remarkable — and very promising — offerings, from services to amenities, it is bound to become a favorite in the years to come.
