Miss Resorts World Manila 2011 crowned

MANILA, Philippines - The first integrated tour- ist destination in the coun- try crowned its Miss Resorts World Manila 2011, Princess Angela Abella, a charming Cebuana, in a glittering coro- nation night last Aug. 27 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.

Abella, 23, was awarded the title along with P500,000 worth of prizes. She was also named Miss Viva Talent, booking her a P500,000 con- tract with Viva Films.

Moreover, Abella was named Darling of the Press during the swimsuit competi- tion and media presentation last Aug. 15 at the The Plaza- Newport Mall.

Completing her court were Ladylyn Riva, 23, who placed first runner-up with P300,000 worth of prizes and who also won Best in Swimsuit and Miss Maxims; and Kriza Cha- risse Argana, 20, who was named second runner-up and took home P200,000 worth of prizes.

The coronation night was hosted by Sarah Meier and Rovilson Fernandez. Canadian Idol finalist Martha Joy, RWM Concert Series September performer Leo Valdez, and the cast of the soon-to-be-un- veiled RWM production “The Sound of Music” provided entertainment.
