Pranjetto Hills: Worth the trip

- Lester Gopela Hallig -

MANILA, Philippines - It might be daunting for some to drive all the way up to Tanay, Rizal. We, however, advise you to try anyway and be amazed by the sights along the way. It might be new territory to some (including us), but trust us on this one. The surprises one finds in Pranjetto Hills Resort & Conference Center are well worth the trip.

For starters, Pranjetto Hills offers sights that provide guests as breather. How does the sight of 10 hectares of lush greens sound? Splendid, yes? The abundance of trees and plants in the resort are a come-on to the visitors who troop to Pranjetto Hills. For these people, Pranjetto Hills provides an escape from the demanding and polluted city life. Here everything seems to slow down as one takes in the scenery.

Pranjetto Hills marketing manager Mitch Angelada says, “People tell us how much they enjoy the trees in the area. We planted some of the trees, which are now in the hundreds. We have plantations for coffee, mangoes, coconuts, jackfruits, bananas, and the like. For our guests, these are soothing sights for their exhausted bodies.”

Angelada adds that these trees give Pranjetto Hills its own forest. Nature trails abound in the area, perfect for individuals who want to go hiking, walking or throwing garden parties.

“We get a lot of doing reunions, gatherings, weddings, birthday parties, debuts, and business conferences here,” she says, mentioning that Pranjetto Hills is equipped for any type of occasion.

For corporate groups, Pranjetto Hills has team-building activities and facilities. There are five conference rooms that accommodate up to 60 people, audio-visual equipment, and a main banquet hall that fits up to 500 attendees. “We receive a lot of bookings for the banquet hall for weddings, birthdays, and anniversaries. We also have a dining area for 200 guests,” she says.

As a leisure destination, Pranjetto Hills offers adventure spots: wall-climbing point, paint ball area, billiard halls, basketball court, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. The latter is surrounded by trees and cottages, most suitable for day-trippers out to cool off.

More are in store for the fun-loving visitor. Pranjetto Hills has a 120-meter zipline that provides a 360-degree view of Metro Manila, too exciting to see as the spot is the highest point of Rizal. And how can you resist that guilty pleasure of a ball known as the Zorb?

Guests who choose to stay in, Angelada shares, favor their country-style cottages. Each cottage uses wood to its living quarters, and harkens back to the log cabins of yesteryears.

She tells us that these vacation houses have become a hit. “A lot of people prefer to experience that away-from-the-city feeling. With these vacation houses, they get to enjoy privacy and rest. They can cook in there since each house has its own kitchen and grilling area. We are building more vacation houses because the demand for them in Pranjetto Hills is high,” she says.

She also discloses that a campsite is in the works. The site, which will rise on a flat land uphill, will even have a pavilion for large groups.

“So we have all types of accommodations — hotel, resort, vacation house, convention center, and campsite,” she says. “We did not expect to go this far, considering that we encountered difficulties along the way. Through word of mouth, plus our commitment to excellent service and quality, Prajetto Hills has become a destination worth taking.”
