For kids, PAL is the happiest place on air with Mickey Mouse and friends
MANILA, Philippines - This year, a new cast of lovable Disney characters — Mickey Mouse and his friends Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto — transforms Philippine Airlines’ long-haul flights into the happiest place on air for young passengers.
Mickey and his playful gang of six are the newest mascots of PAL’s popular Junior Jetsetter activity kits, which are provided to children (two to 11 years old) to keep them entertained on PAL flights to North America and Australia. These include the services between Manila and San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Vancouver, Honolulu, Sydney, Melbourne, and Delhi.
The kits come in two kinds, each for outbound and inbound Manila flights. Both contain activity books, coloring materials, puzzles, stickers and toys, all packed in easy-to-carry bags.
Mickey Mouse and Friends, created by the legendary animator Walt Disney, are some of the most beloved cartoon characters of all time.
Mickey and Minnie made their debut in the classic 1928 animated short Steamboat Willie. Though it was only seven minutes long, the black-and-white cartoon launched lead star Mickey into the public consciousness.
The anthropomorphic mouse went on to star in over 50 animated films, including one that earned an Oscar for best-animated short in 1943. In 1978, Mickey became the first cartoon character to be enshrined with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Now an icon of popular culture, Mickey Mouse is seen everywhere from films to comic strips, theme parks, toys and merchandise, video games, and his own children’s TV series, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
