Fashion for a cause
MANILA, Philippines - Joyce Peñas Pilarsky (photo) used to work as a flight stewardess at Philippine Airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines, but is now based in Germany. Last May 14, she took part for the second time in the Philippine Fashion Week Collection. Proud to be a Filipina, she would like to boost Philippine tourism in her own small way through her passion as a designer of clothes, gowns, and accessories and her desire to make a mark in the fashion world. During the recent Fashion Week, the final gown in her collection was worn by Ford Super Model 2011 Danica Magpantay. Pilarsky is a multi-talented Filipina artist known for her paintings, sculptures, photography, singing, hosting and modeling. She was awarded as the Most Outstanding Filipino Artist in Baden Wuerttenberg, Germany. She is now the president of the Filipino German Club in Germany. From the proceeds of her collection, Pilarsky intends to build a floating school for Manobo children in Agusan del Sur.
