Samsung float is Panagbenga's best

-

MANILA, Philippines - Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp. was awarded the best float in the recent 16th Panagbenga Festival in Baguio City. Sharing the top spot was SM City Baguio.

Aligned with the festival theme “The Environment and Community in Harmony,” the Samsung float took inspiration from the bestselling and most popular children story of all time, “Alice In Wonderland.”

Showcasing flowers with vibrant and vivid colors, a giant rabbit, a healthy interaction between insects and plants, and the presence of two of today’s most promising celebrities in the country, Sam Milby and Andi Manzano, the Samsung float wowed the hundreds of thousands of locals and tourists who witnessed the Panagbenga’s Grand Float Parade from Session Road to the Athletic Bowl of Baguio City.

The float carried more than 3,000 flowers consisting of 18 varieties of chrysanthemums from different countries such as Malaysia, Japan and China; six varieties of gerbera, pink and white roses, anthuriums, bachelor’s buttons, carnations, statis, everlasting and hydrangea, among others.

King Louis Flowers and Plants Inc. designed the float.

The Panagbenga Festival, which takes root from a Malayo-Polynesian term for “season of blooming,” has been one of the top tourist attractions in the country.

The festival pays homage to the beautiful flowers of Baguio City and its resilience to rise from challenges such as the 1990 earthquake.
