Weekend by the hills
MANILA, Philippines - Well-deserved weekend retreats and getaways have become more relevant now. With the pace of persons and professions leaving people panting for breath, it has become a must to recharge oneself to be at the top of the game.
These recent years have shown that Tanay in Rizal is becoming the weekend getaway of choice. With its fresh air and relaxing environment, the town does have something to offer.

Everywhere guests look, flora and fauna abound. Trees such as mango, mahogany, pine, and other fruit-bearing varieties have their place here. This practically gives the resort its own forests to showcase, indeed a great idea for nature-trippers who enjoy short hikes, nature trails or scenic garden parties.
This element provides a backdrop for the resort’s adventure camp. Angelada shares that their wall-climbing, paint ball, billiards, basketball, and swimming activities have become hits with their guests. They have an Olympic-sized swimming pool that is surrounded by tall trees and is adjacent to the multi-purpose entertainment hall where many pool parties have been held.
“The fun also begins with our 120-meter zipline and Zorb. The zipline provides a 360-degree view of Metro Manila,” she says. “You are at the highest point of Rizal, and it is a delight to take in all the sights.”
She adds that corporate groups come to Pranjetto Hills for their team-building activities, too. The complex houses five conference rooms with audio-visual equipment that can fit up to 60 persons, and a main banquet hall that accommodate up to 500 persons. The latter, Angelada says, has been the preferred venue for wedding receptions and birthday and anniversary parties. The dining area, meanwhile, can sit 200 guests.
“Guests enjoy the country-living setting at Pranjetto Hills,” she says. “Our stand-alone cottages lend a cozy and comfortable feel. We used a lot of wood in our living quarters, so you can really feel that unique out-of-the-city experience.”
Each room can accommodate up to eight persons, and is equipped with air-conditioner, satellite cable television, hot and cold shower, among others. Wi-Fi is also available in the resort.
Angelada declares, “Amazing how things have changed in our location. Back then, we used to only attract the seminar-going groups. Now, we receive weekend people. We took the development of Pranjetto Hills step by step. With more and more facilities being added to the resort, such as our soon-to-open spa and firing range, we consider this year as a turning point. People will now have more reasons to visit us.”
