From 'most nature-inspired' to Phl's first & only eco hotel

-

MANILA, Philippines - From being the country’s most nature-inspired, the new Hotel H20 at the Manila Ocean Park is now also the Philippines’ first and only “ecology hotel.”

This developed after Hotel H20 has confirmed the beneficial health effects of the expensive paint it had used for all of its interiors.

The paint, aside from being odorless, carries negative ions that attract dust and other allergenic and pathogenic particles that have either neutral or positive charge.

Since opposite charges attract each other, the negatively charged paint makes the neutrally and positively charged dust particles to stick and gather in clumps until these become heavy enough to fall in a mass that can be vacuumed up, instead of staying suspended in the air where these can be inhaled to cause allergy and diseases.

Thus, the dust particles that are normally seen in the sunbeam from the window are surprisingly minimal or completely gone.

“In effect, all our rooms and the rest of the hotel’s interiors are practically free from floating dust and inhalable particles,” says H2O general manager Eric Mendoza.

“Moreover, the negative ions have also been reported to mitigate depression and SAD (seasonal affective disorder) by buoying one’s mood or inducing high spirits. And this is especially so in our hotel’s Zenyu Spa,” Mendoza adds.

The spa, according to resident manager Eric Tan, offers “hot bed therapy” that heals holistically.

“This (hot bed therapy) rejuvenates and relaxes, enhances blood circulation, strengthens the immune system, improves metabolism and blood pressure, reduces cholesterol and body toxins, and relieves allergies, colds and constipation,” Tan explains.

Add all these to the hotel’s uniquely nature-inspired ambiance and one finds himself immersed in a health-promoting environment, which is ironically situated in the heart of Manila and inside the world-renowned Rizal Park facing Manila Bay.

The hotel itself forms part of the now famous Manila Ocean Park, where it sits snugly at the third floor with all the glory of its 147 elegant and luxurious suites and rooms, each with its own distinctive theme and features that define a regal accommodation.

Aptly named H2O or water, the hotel accounts for the entire third floor of the Oceanarium, which is hugged by the Rizal Park’s greenery and bathed by the dancing ocean waters of the bay and the golden rays of its beautiful sunset.

Such majestic sceneries can be viewed from the windows of the hotel’s rooms and suites, allowing guests to make these as basis for their choice of accommodation.

Nonetheless, the rooms and suites without windows have aquarium walls that can make guests feel like living in a truly exotic marine environment.

Such unique features put guests in the splendor of nature while relaxing in their rooms and suites — whether deluxe, premiere or executive suites, or Parkview, Bayview, Aquarium, Aqua Supreme or Club Bay or Club Aqua rooms — all with luxurious amenities that include free mini-bar, 37-inch LCD TV, high-speed Internet, and marble bath, among many others.

The 34-square meter Club Bay Room alone provides guests with a spectacular view of the Manila Bay and its glorious sunset, plus a Jacuzzi with rainshower and full access to the Club H2O Lounge.

The suites — deluxe, premiere and executive — are even more elegant with unique features that are better experienced than told, both in fantastic views and luxurious interiors, including amenities and services. Still, the doors of all rooms and suites have unique security locks that sound an alarm whenever these are left ajar.

Aside from a spa, the hotel also has its own fitness center, meeting rooms, and a so-called Makan-Makan Asian Food Village offering a sumptuous array of dining and wining options, and vast facilities with a total space of 3,500 square meters for up to 1,000 people and all types of functions.
