Cebu Pacific now offers online check-in service

- Rainier Allan Ronda -

MANILA, Philippines - Local air carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB), which has skyrocketed to become the country’s largest airline in just 15 years from the start of its operations in 1996, is now offering Web or online check-in services to all passengers of its international flights from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal III.

Candice Iyog, CEB vice president for marketing and distribution, said they are proud to be the first Philippine carrier to offer the service to its passengers.

“A lot of foreign carriers are offering this already. We will be the first one to offer it here in the Philippines,” Iyog said in a press briefing.

Iyog said the service will make air travel more convenient for CEB passengers.

CEB will set up Web check-in counters at the NAIA Terminal 3 for those passengers availing themselves of the service.

“From the usual five to seven minutes per passenger in a regular check-in counter, those in line at the Web check-in counter will take only one to three minutes, depending on whether they have check-in luggage,” Iyog said.

Passengers can do Web check-in from 48 hours to up to four hours before their flight.

If they checked in via the service, Iyog said passengers only have to be at the NAIA Terminal III a mere 45 minutes before their flight.

CEB began this week Phase 1 of the service for its international flights from Manila.

She said CEB will launch Phase 2, which will already include domestic flights from Manila, in the last quarter.

To avail themselves of the service, passengers just have to go online and access the CEB website at www.cebupacificair.com and click on the “Manage Booking” icon.

After retrieving and reviewing the booking, they have to select and pay for their seats, if they have not made an online seat selection upon booking. This will already be their seat for the flight. Seats on the exit rows are charged an additional P200, and seats on other rows, P100. After answering security questions, they can then print their boarding passes. — With Rudy Santos
