All's set for 57th Macau Grand Prix
MANILA, Philippines - If speed is your thing, Macau is the place to be on Nov. 18 to 21, for the 57th Macau Grand Prix.
The annual event will feature three headline races: the FIA Formula 3 Intercontinential Cup, the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix (44th Edition), and the FIA World Touring Car Championship, the Guia Race of Macau.
Five supporting races are also on the calendar: the Macau GT Cup, Macau Road Sport Challenge, CTM Macau Touring Car Race, Hotel Fortuna MAC/HKG Interport Race, and Formula BMW Pacific.
The Guia Circuit will once again showcase the skills of top drivers from Macau and across the globe. This year, 252 drivers from 35 countries are participating. Macau is fielding 55 of its own top race drivers.
The Philippines’ Ferdinand “Enzo” Salas Pastor will compete in the Road Sport Challenge Category, with his car number “45,” a 350-400hp EVO 9 Mitsubishi.
This is Pastor’s second time in the Guia Circuit, touted as the Monaco of Asia, toward duplicating the coveted top honors that the legendary Filipino race car champion Dodgie Laurel won for the country 40 years ago.
For the first time, the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix is included in the 26-event Duke Road Race Rankings, the only series to recognize season-long performance on road circuits. The inclusion in the prestigious rankings is further recognition of the international status of the Grand Prix.
Tickets to the Grand Prix range from US$6 for practice days to US$115 at the Lisboa Stand for race days.
