Centara Grand manages Fairways & Bluewater
MANILA, Philippines – Fairways & Bluewater, the 127-hectare resort community in Newcoast, Boracay Island, welcomes Centara Grand to manage The Residences at Fairways & Bluewater.
“With its proven track record of growing financial success and its reputation as one of the strongest luxury and first-class hotel and resort developers and operators across the Asian region, Centara Grand is a welcome enhancement to the Fairways & Bluewater community,” said Noel Cariño, Fairways & Bluewater board chairman.
Centara Hotels & Resorts is recognized as Thailand’s leading hotel group for deluxe and first-class accommodation in both city and resort destinations, and as one of Asia’s most important resources for the MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) market.
Now on its 27th year of service, the company currently operates a chain of 36 hotels and resorts throughout Thailand, which are self-owned or managed under contract.
The recent addition of eight resorts in the Maldives, India, the Philippines, Vietnam and Egypt brings the total to 44 properties.
“The management of the Boracay property is an integral part of our strategy for overseas expansion, as we are placing ourselves very much as a major player in the leisure and MICE markets,” said Gerd Steeb, president of Centara Hotels & Resorts.
Fairways & Bluewater is the largest resort in the island paradise of Boracay. It offers three stretches of splendid white beach in a private cove and features various accommodations and amenities, including its centerpiece attraction — an 18-hole, par 72 world-class championship golf course designed by Graham Marsh, earning itself the international title “Golfing Jewel of the Pacific.”
The resort plans to invest significantly in expanding in the next five years, building an additional 250 rooms and 20 luxury villas, a new spa, 10 more food and beverage outlets, game and entertainment facilities, a club facility, a wedding chapel, additional meeting and conference facilities, and a marina.
The Centara group intends to further upgrade the resort’s facilities to deliver a premium, integrated resort appealing to international clients whether couples, families, meeting or sporting groups, and in preparation for its re-flagging to Centara Grand Beach Resort Boracay.
