Costa Cruises hosts luncheon for PIA
MANILA, Philippines - Costa Cruises Pacific Asia Operations and Travel People Ltd. Inc. recently hosted a luncheon for the officers and members of the Philippine-Italian Association (PIA) on board the Costa Romantica, one of their cruise ships that dock in Manila.
Among its recent activities, PIA held the “Lakbayin Natin ang Europa” at the Museo Pambata, and co-sponsored the Uto Ughi concert at the Cultural Center of the Philippines to mark Italian National Day.
The PIA also held the “Linggo de Lingua” at various universities to promote European languages, and the “Cine Europa” last Sept. 9-19 at the Shang Cineplex.
Its forthcoming events include the Italian Film Festival 2010 at Shang Cineplex of Shangri-la Plaza Mall on Oct. 20-26 to mark Italian Language Week 2010.
On Oct. 20-17, PIA will present together with the Italian Embassy a workshop at CCP and Lyceum of the Philippines by the Artemis Dance Company, and lectures by noted Italian film critic Mario Fortunato at the Shangri-la Plaza and UP.
PIA will hold its traditional annual Christmas party on Dec. 11 at the Conservatory of the Manila Peninsula Hotel, with a Christmas charity drive for its beneficiaries, the Sisters Handmaids of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul and the Servants of Charity.
