Macau offers incentives for MICE events

MANILA, Philippines - Macau is moving to strengthen its position as a major MICE destination in Asia with the launch of its Strategic MICE Market Stimulation Program, an initiative of the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO).

Organizers of meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) are offered support, including financial subsidy, tailor-made to their specific requirements, under the program.

Support includes accommodation rebates, speaker sponsorship, and food and beverage allowances.

Potential events may also be eligible for fully sponsored site inspections and bid assistance.

Entitled to financial subsidies and other support under the program are MICE events confirmed before the end of 2010, even if the events are scheduled beyond this cut-off date.

So far, the program has already supported, from various organizers worldwide, 67 meetings and conventions, 36 exhibitions and 62 incentive programs.

The MGTO is currently working on 13 applications from various parts of the world for events to be held in Macau between 2011 and 2014.
