Jetstar to launch 7 more weekly services to Manila

-

MANILA, Philippines - Low fare leader Jetstar will launch an additional seven weekly services between Singapore and Manila by July, boosting its existing 10 times weekly offering to 17 return flights per week.

This new capacity follows the introduction of three new services in October last year on the route and represents more than doubling of Jetstar’s capacity between Singapore and Manila over the last 12 months.

Jetstar will initially add four additional weekly services starting June 1 with three more services coming on line from July 7.

The new services will be operated by Jetstar’s ninth A320 aircraft to be based in Singapore as part of its planned operational capacity growth of 46 percent over a year.

Jetstar Asia/Valuair chief executive officer Chong Phit Lian said growth opportunities continued to present themselves on existing Jetstar routes.

“Last year’s double-digit passenger traffic growth has continued during the first quarter of this year, with markets like Manila showing good potential for further growth,” she said.

“This route continues to respond well to our low fares, a strong attraction for the business and corporate market along with the market for visiting friends and relatives on this route in particular,” Chong said.

Jetstar recently announced incremental increases in flights to Ho Chi Minh City and Hong Kong from Singapore with the carrier’s latest A320 based in Singapore.

“We are continuing to grow Jetstar’s hub presence at Singapore’s Changi International Airport with these new services and growth of our Singapore network,” Chong said.

“Jetstar is in an ideal position with many new aircraft coming into our fleet to capitalize on the resilience of the Asian market and the growth opportunities that exist for value-based carriers,” she said.

“Boosting frequency on our existing services and creating more robust schedules for our existing Jetstar customers along with our Qantas interline passengers are key drivers of our broader pan-Asian distribution growth strategy,” she added.

All Singapore-Manila services will operate from Singapore’s Changi International Airport Terminal 1 to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Jetsaver Light fares between Singapore and Manila start from SGD138, inclusive of all surcharges, fees and taxes. Log on to jetstar.com or call Jetstar’s 24/7 telephone reservation center at 800 6161977 (Singapore) or 1800 16110280 (Philippines).

All Jetstar services between Singapore and Manila are covered by Jetstar’s Price Beat Guarantee. If a customer can find a lower fare with another carrier on the same route on the same day at a comparable time, Jetstar will beat that fare by 10 percent.
