Rajah Group celebrates 38 years
MANILA, Philippines - Rajah Tours is celebrating its 38th year in the tourism industry this week. The company was established in February 1972, the same year martial law was declared.
From an inbound operator, Rajah expanded into outbound travel, transportation and convention and exhibition management and is now known as the Rajah Group of Companies. The companies are run by the Clemente family and the children are continuing the vision of their parents, Joe and Dading. Still considered as the largest outbound and inbound company, it will continue to expand its horizon with Rajah Travel going into the corporate market. With the decrease in Japanese tourist arrival, Rajah Tours shifted to the European and Middle East markets. With the tremendous boom of the convention and exhibition market, Dading Clemente will again go back to the company’s promotional thrust of getting a share of this market with more convention and exhibition facilities being built in major cities in the country. Clemente says she believes the government should come out with a tagline that will really put the Philippines back in the international tourism market.
