Traders empowers kids in Christmas talent show

-

MANILA, Philippines - The Traders Hotel, Manila, as part of its annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, recently held a Christmas Talent Show that featured some of the less fortunate kids in Pasay City.

The event billed as “Maytubig, You Got Talent!” was attended by over 50 children aged 12 and below from Barangay Maytubig, Zone 1 Area 1.

The kids were able to showcase their talents, as they took part in a singing contest, belting out timeless hits of Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and other artists.

A dance contest soon followed much to the delight of the audience, followed by a special set by the country’s premier ventriloquist Ony Carcamo. Hearty meals and gifts were also handed out during the fun-filled affair that was capped by a special photo session with the Traderian Santa Claus.

The show’s special prizes were handed out by Andrea Mastellone, the hotel’s general manager; Mike Mangilit, CSR head and training manager; Patricia Gallardo, Shangri-La’s director for CSR and sustainability; and Pia Asistio, general manager, New Riviera Hotel Development Co. Inc., owning company of Traders Hotel, Manila.

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Asia-Pacific’s leading luxury hotel group, signed a CSR policy that went into effect in 2007 and launched a two-year development strategy to enhance its existing CSR activities.

A corporate CSR Committee guides the fulfillment of the company’s responsibilities in five key areas: the environment; employees and the community; health and safety; supply chain management; and stakeholder relations. For more information, visit www.shangri-la.com.
