Paradise lost
MANILA, Philippines - In the midst of the #Laboracay sh*tstorm that infested our social media feeds — that endless parade of abs, tanned skin, and red cups and sweaty bodies living it up in the name of EDM and Miley Cyrus — there are hidden pockets in Boracay that remain unspoiled by debauchery. We sent photographer Jelito de Leon on a mission to capture these moments of stillness while the parties winnowed down and the music trickled down to the last exhausted beat. What he captured reminds us why Boracay still remains as one of our country’s enthralling gems, one that is both a temple to hedonism and a harbor to those seeking refuge.
