Cruisin' is made for love
MANILA, Philippines - Stylists Pam Quiñones and Rey Ilagan teamed up with makeup and hair stylists Robbie Piñera and Raymond Santiago in this Mark Nicdao-helmed photo shoot for the Tomato’s 2012 summer campaign. Channeling the legendary sex appeal of beach babe Brigitte Bardot with a hint of Cindy Crawford’s laidback all-American style, the campaign features big hair, high waist swimwear, and pops of color — the retro ‘60s with a fresh, young twist. Expect to find the quintessential summer print: polka dots! Designed to bring on the cute in an otherwise ordinary outfit, polka dots aren’t the only prints available in the collection — feel free to rock the print-on-print trend from tribal to geometric shapes and patterns or throw in a little bohemian print for good measure, but if you want to mute the prints a little, a little color-blocking should do the trick.
For the men, there’s Tomato Green’s summer 2012 look, which is all about bringing out that sexy side while wearing comfortable clothes that are made to fit any type of body. Comfort is key to looking sexy and what better way to accomplish that than by trying on a pair of plaid knee-length shorts for size? It’s the perfect preppy boy-next-door piece, especially when paired casually with slip-ons. Want to stand out a little? Wouldn’t hurt to try a pair of colored chinos that are trim and tapered or elongated cuffed shorts — both are definitely miles away from your normal pair of khakis. Of course, unless you’re feeling that confident, you’re going to want to throw a shirt over those shorts. In that case, it wouldn’t hurt to work the military trend in a double-pocket shirt or the maritime look in nautical stripes. But if you’re headed somewhere a little formal, you can’t go wrong with a narrow-collar dress shirt — it’s fresh, extremely stylish and, as a bonus, this cut accentuates your manly shoulders and puts the focus on that handsome mug.
So boys and girls, you’re all pretty much set for your summer destinations with Tomato’s 2012 summer collection — just make sure to make room for other essentials when you pack your bags!
