Supreme presents Graphika Manila 2011
MANILA, Philippines - Graphika Manila International Multimedia Design Conference is the premier multimedia and graphic design event in the Philippines. Since 2006, Graphika Manila has attracted over 7,500 design students and professionals and is now hailed as one of the most influential multimedia art events in the country. As it celebrates its sixth year running, together with Supreme, Graphika Manila once more brings together Manila’s creative minds to listen to inspiring stories and celebrate the works of the best multimedia and graphic designers from the Philippines and from around the globe. Simply put, it is a creative symposium with speakers from different fields of the creative arts. The conference focuses on the creative side of design, rather than technology.
Graphika Manila has been instrumental in bringing in some of the industry’s most respected professionals as well as world-renowned companies, to share their experiences in multimedia and design. Some of this year’s speakers are Mike Friolo, a senior designer in Nike Inc. whose best work includes the concept and design of Manny Pacquiao gear, logo and crest; Dan Matutina, a locally-based designer and illustrator whose list of clients include CondeNast, Google (Southeast Asia) and Coca-Cola Foundation,Inc.; and Seph Mayol, a Cebu-based designer/developer who has worked on projects for Walt Disney, Univeral Music Group and Paramount Pictures. Some of the most notable companies in the design industry are also represented, such as Weta Digital, a world leading visual effects company based in New Zealand, which won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects on James Cameron’s Avatar, Laundry!, a design and animation studio based in L.A. with clients like MTV, VH1 and Zune Arts and 27+20, a local independent multidisciplinary design agency from Q.C. with clientele that include multinational companies, such as P&G Asia, Getty Images Singapore and Nestle Philippines.
The Graphika Manila International Multimedia Design Conference is on July 30, 2011 (Saturday) at the SM Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia.
