Everybody goes to Hollywood

-

MANILA, Philippines- Metro magazine took to fashionable heights with the release of their Big Style issue for June. Setting things off to a big start was the cover shoot, which paired one of the country’s most popular female actresses, Kim Chiu, with Hollywood TV heartthrob Matt Lanter from the hit series 90210

. The scenario was set—a stylish rendezvous at The W Hollywood with the two stars.

The Metro team hied off to Los Angeles, California for this shoot, which was six months in the making. Top fashion photographer Mark Nicdao and makeup artist to the stars Juan Sarte joined the group to bring this project to reality. Armed with suitcases and boxes of designer dresses and suits — shipped in from Manila, Hong Kong and New York — everything was set.

On location at the W Hotel in LA: Kim Chiu and 90210’s Matt Lanter pose for Metro.

The shoot was scheduled to start at 7 a.m. on the dot. Kim was in the middle of hair and makeup when Matt Lanter sauntered in, with only his publicist Mona Loring of MLC PR. Apart from being even more handsome in person, the team was delighted to find that he’s not only charming, but also down-to-earth and genuinly friendly. Despite the early hour, Matt was in a jovial mood and thrilled about the shoot, stating that he “…was very excited and honored to be the first American on the cover.” Soon after, the shoot was underway, and there was, clearly, natural chemistry between the two stars, which added a whimsical mood to the images. Even Mark could not contain his excitement over the photographs.

The issue also features the latest editors’ picks of wardrobe and accessory must-haves of the season, plus an exclusive photo shoot featuring the creations of some of Manila’s most trendsetting fashion designers – Dennis Lustico, Louis Claparols, Ivarluski Aseron, Joey Samson and more. Get to know the people behind the city’s hip underground culture centers—The Collective, Cubao X, and Ronac Art Center—and find out where to go and what to eat in the metro in Metro’s first-ever Heat List, which features the latest restaurants, bars, books, and gadgets.
