The Noynoy Show begins here
MANILA, Philippines - Move over, Rubi. You’ve met your match. Someone undeniably more popular will be lording it over the prime time viewing bloc from now on as the teleserye extravaganza of the decade premieres this month.
Shot entirely in the bowels of Malacañang and Bahay Pangarap, the next big TV sensation will spruce up the nation’s nightly viewing habit with its stellar ensemble, headed by newly crowned President Noy, sister and Queen of All Media Kris, among other bigwigs in the political and showbiz scene that have agreed to be part of the cast. The ghosts of Ninoy and President Cory are also set to do a cameo in the pilot episode.
Presidential karel (that’s short for ka-relationship) Shalani Soledad also signed up to be part of the serye, but due to her shy-type nature, she has specifically asked not to be given speaking lines. Dinky Soliman will also play a supporting role together with Ging Deles, and Leila de Lima.
Contract superstars like Boy Abunda, Ogie Alcasid and Dingdong Dantes have reportedly accepted bit roles, though it’s Marian Rivera’s turn as a psychologist we’re all waiting for..
With the production budget set at about more than a trillion pesos, the viewing public is set to be enthralled by the circus, hype and drama that will surely be part of the plot. The Noynoy Show promises to deliver change and bring back decency to the beleaguered republic. Will P-Noy be able to fulfill his promises? Can he keep his good name untarnished? And most importantly, can Yuko Yamashita get him to grow his hair back? We don’t know. All we know is it’s good to have a new show in town because that last one? It was about four years due for cancellation.
