Supreme exclusive: Are you ready for the Oscars?

- Tim Yap -

MANILA, Philippines - As we all know, the Oscars is coming up. Dubbed “the greatest movie event on earth,” the 82nd Academy Awards will be hosted by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin on March 8 starting at 6:30 a.m., on Velvet. And since we can’t be there in Hollywood live to witness tinseltown’s glitziest trophy ceremony, the folks at the Velvet channel are doing the next best thing — mounting their own “Tribute to the Oscars” photo exhibit, now in its second year.

“Dynamic duos” is this year’s theme, with 14 creative teams of photographers, makeup artists, and stylists, who were paired with celebrities to recreate scenes from Oscar-winning movies. Think Gone With The Wind, Titanic, West Side Story, Forrest Gump and The Lord of The Rings: The Return of The King, right alongside modern features Pulp Fiction, Dirty Dancing, Brokeback Mountain and, a favorite from last year, Inglorious Basterds. The scenes from our favorite movies plus the scene’s most sizzling seductors come together to form the images that you see on your Supreme page.

The exhibit goes around town after the Thursday event at the Ayala Museum. The public can view the exhibit during its two-week run — March 5 to 12 at Greenbelt 3 and from March 13 to 20 at Eastwood Mall.
