MANILA, Philippines - Not even in her wildest dreams did Heart Evanglista think she would win as Famas Best Actress.  But dream she did, and when she woke up, the award was hers. Sometimes, the best things in life come when you least expect it.

An acting award instantly elevates the recipient to another level in her career. Recognition of your acting ability, espe-cially from your peers in the industry, the elders and the critics is not an easy feat, and Supreme is happy to see the changing of the guards as we witness younger actresses take on more challenging roles, away from formula films that frankly, we are sick and tired of.

Heart took a gamble, and she won. Big time.

What were you doing when they called out your name as Famas Best Actress?

I was asleep! My dad went to my condo and he said he had bad news! I wanted to cry ’cause I thought something happened, then he screamed and said, “You won!”

When you found out about your victory, how did you feel?

I couldn not believe it! The movie was the only indie film nominated in the awards! And also, never in my wildest dreams did I think I would win! I’m on cloud nine! So thankful!

What was the first thing that came into your mind after the fact?

To give thanks to FAMAS! I feel bad that I wasn’t able to go!

Do you feel vindicated over circumstances surrounding your career?

Yes, I feel vindicated and it feels great. Showbiz is a different ballgame and to be acknowledged makes it worth it!

Does winning the award change anything in you?

I don’t want it to pressure me in anyway. I’ll enjoy the feeling for a week and then forget it ever happened! It will serve as an inspiration!
