What’s your favorite Instagram post?

WORDS WORTH - Mons Romulo - The Philippine Star

Instagram (IG) has become one of the most popular social networking sites all over the world. Started more than five years ago, it now has over 300 million active users and has become the venue for people to share their life stories, travels, possessions and inspirational quotes or messages.

These personalities share their favorite IG posts.

Donnie Tantoco, president, Rustan Commercial Corp.

This is my favorite post. It’s my son learning directly from my Lolo how to live a joyful and purposeful life.

Divine Lee, model, TV host

It’s so hard to point out a specific post but I really love seeing travel posts. It’s nice that we have social media now to share our different experiences with people. I get most of my tips on where to go and eat from IG feeds. I also love the location feature because it allows me to keep track of places I’ve been to.

Vanessa Mayuga-Santos, beauty purveyor of www.seektheuniq.com

This captures the pure joy of our recent family trip to Niseko, Japan. It was the first time for our kids to see snow, and being with them for that was priceless. Niseko is surreal and the mountain brings a beautiful calm.

Priscilla Meirelles, actress, former beauty queen

InstaPray’s “Focus on the Lord.” After reading that post, I now start my day with that mindset and nothing else matters, because I know God will never fail me.

Thelma Dumpit, restaurateur, The Wild Juan Restobar, Tagaytay Ridge

Most of us waste our time looking for happiness: at home, at work, in other people. Little do we realize that happiness can be found within us. We must create our own happiness. Find joy in everything we do and see. Feel the breeze. Smell the flowers. Be thankful to the Lord.

Patch Singson, wife of Ilocos Governor Ryan Singson

I love every inspirational quotation because they motivate me to be the best that I can be, and inspire me to influence others with positivity. One of my favorites is “Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God.”

Billy Crawford, TV host, singer

This was taken during our African safari trip just last New Year’s Eve. Pictures don’t do justice to being right there in the heart of the African jungle, with all its untamed flora and fauna. You can’t help but feel a sense of awe and wonder.

Martin Del Rosario, actor

I was probably a traveler in my past life. This was taken in Nami Island during my trip to Seoul, Korea. That trip was actually my baptism to independence. I’m looking forward to going back this year.

Loven Ramos, founder, 1961 Coworking and Art Space

While on an epic drive around Cambodia several weeks ago, we ran into this structure in the middle of the countryside in a rice-field irrigation area in Banteay Menchey Province, so I had to stop and take a photo and upload it. Apparently local and Korean artists built this for an art festival we had never heard of and, given its location to the nearest city, this would have been forgotten. But as soon as I posted this, the reactions were immense and almost everyone I knew said they drove up a few hundred kilometers to see it.
